Fight Fans, Here is what is coming up in the UFC as we near the end of 2007. This has been a crazy year with a ton of new Champions and more upsets than any one guru can predict. That is what we love about this sport.

UFC 78 Validation Saturday November 17
This ‘Validating’ card will force two TUF fighters into the spotlight. This is Rashaad Evans and Michael Bispings first time headlining a Pay Per View card. The two fighters won their season of The Ulitmate Fighter Reality show and both are coming off important victories. The winner of this fight will most likely take on Quinton Jackson in early 2008. This is a very important fight for the Light Heavyweight division. Too bad UFC just announced UFC 79 with Wanderlai Silva taking on Chuck Liddel, everyone has already lost interest in UFC 78 and are planning their battle parites for UFC 79.
UFC 79 Nemesis Saturday December 29
The big show in December will feature a headline that screams “Punch me till I bleed” !!! Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell will take on Wanderlei “The Ax Murderer” Silva. Quick question, why are all the bad ass fighters from Brazila named ‘Silva’? Any way back to the fight, Liddell is coming off of two losses in which he was dethroned by Quinton Jackson and then embarrassed by Keith Jardine. If any fighter has something to prove these days, it is Liddell. He’s getting older and heavier, 205 isn’t the easiest weight for him to make any more. Silva is leaving pride with barely any of it. He lossed by knock out to Dan Henderson earlier this year and is ready to show the UFC what he is made of, again. Silva hasn’t fought in the UFC since he lossed to Tito Ortiz in UFC 25 on 04/14/2000.
This will be a big show. I will make predictions the night of weigh ins when I see exactly what kind of shape Liddell shows up in. I’m betting on a beer belly with a short cropped mo hawk and goatee. Should expect to see a pissed off Liddell.
