Amir wins, I’m wrong on every single fight…..

24 06 2008

For the first time ever I missed every fight prediction I made.  I felt so confident about my Utah boys representin that I picked Jeremy Horn and Josh Burkman to win their fights and both lost.  Josh Burkman and Dustin Hazelett put on one hell of a show.  With that fight being the last on J. Burkman’s contract it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.  I know EliteXC has been snatching up fighters right and left, or even Affliction.

Diego Sanchez looks to be back on track with a big win.

Finally Amir and CB.  Wow.  I was really concerned that the fight ended in controversy.  I hate when a rematch or grudge match ends in controversy.  As a fighter I’d rather get a win in a big way or decisive way rather than squeek somethin’ out cuz the ref stopped it a tad early.

From the replay it looked like CB did start to tap and then after one good solid tap he changed his mind.  CB did tap and I loved it.  Amir is so surprising as a fighter.  I would put him as an underdog in any fight and not be surprised if he found a way to win them.

Hopefully he can move through the division quickly and work his way to a title shot.  There are quiet a few people waiting for a chance, but Anderson Silva may have moved on.

Next up: Amir and Jesse Taylor fight in spring of ‘09.  How is that for a prediction.  Jesse will get his stuff together and Dana will give him a shot and promote the hell out of it as the ‘fight that should have been’ just like the Michael Bisping vs. that deaf kid that should have won.

UFC Ultimate Fighter Finale Predictions

19 06 2008

Team Rampage was given a fu(k!n gift when CB Dalloway was invited to fight Tim for the chance te be in the finale.  CB should have and did beat Tim.  Tim is a hell of a fighter and even better person, but Dana White and the UFC powers-that-be knew CB would win and they’d get him in the finalle as they wished.  When Amir beat CB the first time they royally f-ed up Dana’s plan for CB and the Middleweight Division.

With Anderson Silva bored to tears with the middleweights, he’s moving up to 205lbs to fight and hopefully kick some ass up there.  The 185 needed some new blood and CB was supposed to be that new blood.

Ultimate Fighter Finale Prediction:
CB will beat Amir by desicion.  I’d love for Amir to pull off another upset and ko CB, but it isn’t going to happen.  My prediction is CB by unanimous decision.

Jeremy Horn will submit Dean Lister in the second round.  Probably ankle lock or something out of the ordinary.  I’ve been down there and seen this guy train, he’ll submit him in the second round after taking a beating in the first round.

Josh Burkman will TKO Hazlett.  Dustin Hazlett is a good fighter, but Burkman is too strong for the 170lb weight class.  Guy has insane strenght and wrestling ability.  Once he has Hazelett down it will be only a matter of time before Hazelett taps from punches or it gets stopped.  Burkman by TKO in the first round.

Kendall Grove will lose by KO or TKO to Evan Tanner.  Tanner never should have lost to Franklin and is a freakin beast.  I’ve never seen so much muscle on one guy with out having some of the juicy-juice in their system.  Look for Tanner to stand and bang if Grove wants to or take it to the ground and pound it out there.

Evan Tanner by KO or TKO in the first round.  Probably in the first two minutes.  I love Kendall, but this isn’t a good match up for him.

Agree?  Disagree? Lets fu(k!n here it!

Jesse Taylor. Holy Sh!t.

19 06 2008

Dana knows Jesse can fight and saw how devistated he was.  He knows Jesse will punish himself more than Dana ever could.

He’ll be back, after CB beats Amir in the finale Jesse will get to fight the winner in the fall.  You’ll see.  I don’t even like the fighter that is Jesse Taylor, but I have place in my heart for morons who blow their chance at success by stupidity.

Thoughts on UFC 84 and EliteXC’s fights on Saturday.

1 06 2008

If you read my predictions, UFC 84 didn’t come as much of a surprise to you.  If you were annoyed with my accuracy, other than Tito losing by descision instead of winning, you shouldn’t look at my page until after the fights are over.

If I helped you win some money in Vegas…. well then, share the love.

As for Elite XC’s fightnight on Saturday.  People in alot of forums are wondering if this is the start to the end of the UFC or Wec or any payperview program.  My thoughts, HELL NO.

While the EliteXC fights were good, especially Gina Curano’s ass whoopin she laid down, it was kind of like watching a high school basketball game compared to the NBA finals.  People who were intrigued by last nights fights are going to wonder if there is more out there and when they get a taste of the talent pool the UFC has, the UFC’s ppv revenue will skyrocket.  Hopefully this means more money for fighters.

Kieth Jardine was given ten grand to fight Silva, ten grand!  That is small price to pay for the ass beating he took.

How is UFC 84 Penn vs Sherk going to go down?

22 05 2008

Two words, Hawaiian domination.

BJ Penn is a fighter.  Sean Sherk is an athlete.  This is a physical sport, but at the end of the day it is a fight and the fighter will win this fight.  Penn isn’t worried about hanging with Sherk for five rounds, he wont need more than two, maybe three.

My UFC 85 prediction for BJ Penn and Sean Sherk’s main event showdown: In typical BJ Penn fashion he’ll show a slow jab that finds its target 90% of the time and will have sherks face bleeding by the end of round 1.  Also in round 1 Penn will show his inability to be taken down.  Sherk’s frustration with Penn will resemble Matt Hughes frustration after two rounds.  If Penn can stay injury free for this fight he should be able to submit Sherk by the end of round two or early into round three.  If it goes past three Sherk will be lucky to leave the cage with both arms still attached.

As the equally exciting undercard: Wlanderlei Silva will KTFO Keith Jardine.  Silva has had a slow comeback in the UFC but will make the most of this fight.  Silva will have knockout power when he’s an 80 year old saggy man.

Tito Ortiz better bring it cuz Machida will.  Lloyoto Machida is a machine, a karate machine, but non-the-less a machine.  Machida is in great shape but doesn’t seem to have the ‘it’ something that a champion has.  My prediction for this fight is a Round 1 sumbission by Machida or a three round descion for Tito.  I love Tito, he is in a three way tie for my favorite fighter ever, but I just don’t know if he has the same fire he used to have.
